Animals have been depicted in the art of carpet weaving from as long as the art form has been known to exist. Both imperial workshops and nomadic weavers have included an array of animal imagery throughout the ages and across vast geography. This special exhibition will showcase knotted pile rugs with a variety of animal imagery from a diverse set of regions such as China, the Caucasus, Persia, Tibet, and Turkey. Pieces exhibited are drawn from several Bay Area private collections.

The exhibition runs during ARTS and may be seen during show hours.
